Avery Dennison has established a PET release liner recycling programme, enabling end users of Avery Dennison packaging materials to improve sustainability of their operations, while eliminating landfill or incineration costs. The recycling programme operates in collaboration with local recycling partners in Great Britain, Italy and Benelux. We are looking for additional reliable recycling partners to join our network.
How does the PET liner recycling programme work?
PET liner waste (uncontaminated by labels and segregated from other materials) is first delivered to our recycling partners. The spent PET liners are then granulated for the production of r-PET. This material is used widely, for example in the production of recycled PET staple fibres or thermoforming sheets. Each individual recycling solution is evaluated case by case, based on volume, location and segregation quality.
Benefits of PET liner recycling with Avery Dennison
Instead of going to landfill or being incinerated PET release liner is recycled into new material. This provides significant benefits for the environment in terms of raw material savings. Brand owners also avoid the cost of waste disposal, and in some cases can receive payment for the PET waste that they supply to the recycling scheme.
