Avery Dennison’s new solution for chilled food in flexible containers provides excellent performance for label application on chilled surfaces.
The product construction is made up of a polyethylene film, hotmelt adhesive and glassine liner (product code: BC827 – PE85 White–S2045N-BG40WH).
The higher initial tack of S2045N improves dispensing accuracy and increases adherence of the label to the packaging. On chilled surfaces, the initial tack is up to 4 times higher than industry standard hotmelt adhesives*. Beyond the application process, the label must also remain intact when the products are stored in below freezing temperatures. It can withstand temperatures ranging from -40°C to +70°C, making it suitable for typical storage environments for chilled food products.
Our solution allows for the labelling of squeezable bottles and other flexible containers, providing excellent adhesion on slightly rough and curved surfaces. The label material is also compatible with conventional printing techniques, as well as thermal transfer printing, and with UV, water-based and solvent-based inks, and will be available via our EXACT™ service programme from Q1 2016.
